Don’t Compare Your Story to Someone Else’s

Why Every Pregnancy, Birth, and Motherhood Journey Is Unique

Many mothers quietly compare themselves to others.

Perhaps you’ve heard someone say:

“My labour only lasted four hours.”

“I was back to normal within two weeks.”

“Breastfeeding came naturally for me.”

And before you know it, you may begin to wonder:

“Why is my journey different?”

But dear mother, someone else’s story is not your standard.

Every Journey Is Different

Every baby is different.

Every pregnancy is different.

Every birth is different.

And every mother is different.

The experiences of others may encourage us, but they should never become a measure of our own worth or success.

Social Media Doesn’t Show the Whole Story

In today’s world, we are constantly surrounded by carefully chosen moments.

Beautiful nurseries.

Smiling babies.

Perfect family photos.

But behind every picture is a real human being with struggles, tears, worries, and unanswered prayers.

Comparison steals joy and replaces gratitude with feelings of inadequacy.

Trust the Journey Allāh Has Written for You

Allāh, in His wisdom, has written a unique story for every mother.

Your timeline may be different.

Your challenges may be different.

Your healing may be different.

That does not mean you are failing.

It simply means that your story is your own.

A Reminder for Every Mother ♡

Dear mother,

You do not need to have someone else’s pregnancy.

You do not need to have someone else’s birth.

You do not need to be someone else’s version of a “perfect mother.

“You only need to be the mother Allāh created you to be.

Trust your journey.

Trust the wisdom of your Creator.

And remember that your worth is not measured by comparisons, but by the love, sincerity, and effort you pour into your role as a mother.

Because your story was never meant to look exactly like anyone else’s.
